Parents of children under 16, or disabled children under 18, have a right to have their employer consider their request to work flexibly. As well as the right to have your request for flexible working considered.
You have to have worked for your employer for a minimum of 26 weeks.
You are only entitled to one request in a 12 month period.
Agency workers do not have an entitlement to request flexible working.
If your request for work flexibility is accepted it is not automatically reversible unless previously agreed with your employer.
You cannot be treated detrimentally or be discriminated against for asking for flexible working.
